For more than 2,000 years, the practice of acupuncture has been used to prevent and relieve pain.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. It is a key component of traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupuncture needles are very fine, allowing for smooth insertion into the tissue of affected areas without bleeding or damage. There is no drug applied, but rather it is the needles themselves that provide the stimulation necessary to achieve the beneficial results of the treatment.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Acupuncture provided by our Registered Acupuncturist can be used to treat a wide range of conditions. It is reimbursable as ‘acupuncture’ under extended health insurance plans. It also qualifies as a tax deductible medical expense on your tax return. We do direct bill your insurance company if you qualify.

Acupuncture with our Acupuncturist

Our practitioners have received training and certification in acupuncture for physical rehabilitation. This allows them to incorporate specific acupuncture points into their physiotherapy treatment sessions if they believe it will benefit the patient (and the patient consents to it). They use acupuncture in this way to help decrease pain and inflammation, and to promote tissue healing and optimal nerve and muscle function.
